The Holy One Who Showed Me Acceptance

Cold Varanasi winter!
Super intrigued by each other's embellishings and hair;
even compared our silver grey strands.
No two moments the same, and all equally special.
MUCH to laugh about and stories shared in stillness on the ancient steps.
Finding every and any moment to warm the skin, heart and bones in the winter sun. It was a very cloudy winter that year.
This is also the moment I decided to really let my hair go --- almost 4 months in India, so a good excuse and great opportunity.

I thought I was very brave.
Also felt there was not much of an option and that the timing was perfect,
and it made the transition from brunette so easy.
This Holy Baba taught me so much about acceptance.
His crinkled hands told incredible stories.
And I had to keep up with it.
He had so very little and had the biggest smile I had ever come across on anyone.
Really is something I apply to my every day life, especially now with so much constant change. Acceptance!
What would I give just to share a chai with him on those steps, also his home.
He gifted me some of his dreadlocks.
There is a lot more to this part of the story.
So much deep gratitude for this wise man that touched me so profoundly 🌸🙌💓
